PLEASE NOTE: As of 2025, the idler pulleys no longer have the "gates" or shoulders on the sides, This was added originally to help with belt walk, but ended up causing more issues than it solved, so they were removed on all batches made after Jan1, 2025. 

These 6061-T6 billet idler bearings are a big upgrade from the plain stamped steel versions that the OEM uses. Traditionally the 89052 idler from Dayco was the go-to for 6 rib applications, and we used the Continental 49102 for 8 rib configurations and the 49111 for 10 rib. The issue was cost, lead time, and quality. We decided to step up and make our own in house, so that none of that would be an issue any longer. There are a few options for these idlers, so pay attention. 

The overall design of the HD/SD pulley will accommodate either a 6 or 8 rib belt width. You have a bit more "wiggle room" in 6 rib. The 10 rib will fit anything 10 ribs or less (obviously). You MAY have to shim the idler back or forth, depending on what idlers you have now, and if they are different than a Dayco 89052. If you are running an 8 rib setup with Continental 49102 or 49111 idlers, contact us and we can get you sorted. 

The idler comes in 3 flavors, Heavy Duty, Super Duty, and the 10 rib Super Duty. The overall design is the same, but the Heavy Duty uses a single row bearing, much like the OEM parts, which is fine for 90% of the applications out there. The Super Duty versions comes with a double row bearing, for extra stability. The 10 rib is .300" wider, added forward away from the engine. All bearings are press fit into the idler body, and use a C-Clip as a secondary retention method for the bearing. 

Idlers are stocked in HD and SD in BLACK ONLY!!!!! If you want one in clear anodize, or any color, we CAN do this, it might just take a few extra days. Please put the color in the notes, or contact us BEFORE ordering if you are in hurry, and we will try to accommodate you. Custom engraving/laser marking is also available. 

Some grinding or clearance work MAY be required when using these with stock bracketry since the pulley is deeper than a standard stamped idler. Please double check for clearance BERFORE installing the belt and turning the key!!!
